CATCH-UP ACTIVITY #1 - First Period

 

🎯 Instructions for the Task:

  1. Read each text carefully.

🏠 a. Rooms in the House: "My House"

Hello! My name is Ana. I live in a small house. There is a kitchen, a living room, two bedrooms, and a bathroom. In the kitchen, I cook with my mom. In the living room, I watch TV with my brother. My bedroom is pink. I sleep and read books there.

 

🪑 b. Furniture: "Tom’s New Room"

Tom has a new bedroom. There is a big bed, a desk, a chair, and a lamp. He puts his books on the shelf. He plays games on the computer at his desk. His favorite furniture is the soft armchair near the window.

 

🧑‍🏫 c. Classroom Objects: "In My Backpack"

I go to school every day. In my backpack, I have a pencil case, notebooks, a ruler, and crayons. In the classroom, there is a whiteboard, a clock, and many desks. My teacher uses a marker to write on the board.

 

👕 d. Clothes: "What I Wear"

On Monday, I wear a school uniform: a white shirt, blue pants, and black shoes. On Saturday, I wear a T-shirt, jeans, and sneakers. When it’s cold, I wear a jacket and a scarf. I like wearing my red hat!

 

🍎 e. Food: "My Favorite Meals"

I eat breakfast at 7:00. I have bread, eggs, and orange juice. For lunch, I eat rice, chicken, and salad. Dinner is at 7:00 p.m. I like soup and fruit. My favorite food is pizza. I eat it on Fridays!

 

🏀 f. Free Time Activities: "What I Do After School"

After school, I play soccer with my friends. On Wednesdays, I go to dance class. I also like drawing and listening to music. On weekends, I ride my bike and watch movies with my family.


  1. Identify the key vocabulary (important words) in each reading.
  2. Make a POSTER to include the 6 topics from readings, on an A4 format card.

Example:

 

  1. Create one drawing for each reading (6 drawings total).

    • Draw a scenery according to each topic.
    • Your drawing must show the vocabulary (6 words) from the reading.

For example:

🏠 Rooms in the house (Livingroom, etc.)
🪑 Furniture (lamp, etc.)
🧑‍🏫 Classroom objects (ruler, etc.)
👕 Clothes (jeans, etc.)
🍎 Food (eggs, etc.)
🏀 Free time activities (listening to music, etc.)

    • Draw and color the sceneries.
    • Label the objects in English.
    • Invent a title.

For example: “My Life in English” or “English Vocabulary World.”, etc.

 

Checklist:

 

I designed a poster on an A4 format card.

 

I drew 6 sceneries according to each topic.

 

Every scenery shows 6 words) from the reading.

 

I drew and color the sceneries.

 

I labeled the objects in English.

 

I invented a title.

1ST HOMEWORK FOR 8TH GRADE

 

HOMEWORK # 1

Make a mini-book on A3 format card - any color.

Write on every page the next topics:

- Rooms in a house

- Furniture

- Classroom Objects

- Food

- Clothes

- Free time activities.

Draw and label 6 things of your preference in every section according to the topic.

Example: 


 
Personalize your images, for example: 

- On Classroom Objects, you can your draw a classroom.

- On clothes, you can draw a closet, etc.

Invent a topic for the cover page.

No Spanish.
